The link above is to a theory why RJ will kill Sherriff McCallister, thus symbolically proving he's RJ. My theories are pretty ridiculous, but I hope they entertain, haha.
Here is my speculative theory. As Sophie Miller records her notes on RJ vocally, and Patrick says "acrophobia" is the fear of heights to enlighten the audience, wouldn't it be convenient if there was a phobia which sounds like acrophobia and Patrick mishears Sophie or pretends to... Sure agrophobia and agoraphobia fit, but they're hard to make a theory out of. What about Acaraphobia though, hmm? It is a fear of small crawlers, termites and insects that bite.
Look at Partridge's behaviour in episode 1 of season 6 in the desert. As the scene goes on, the buzzing of the flies is more and more prominent, and Partridge looks more and more in discomfort. When Patrick comes closer and stares, Partridge looks scared/bothered. Is he scared/bothered by Patrick or the flies on their shoulders. Even Patrick notes that he's a very good actor afterwards. But what if Partridge really was only bothered by the flies,
And the BS on top, for extra ridiculousness, (don't consider this part of the theory, its just a laugh), Partridge is fond of pigeons because they grab and gobble termites and other insects.

Along with Brett Partridge's script + the amount of dramatic irony in there if you watch, thinking/knowing he's RJ, and him matching Bruno Heller's clues as well as Rosalynd Harker's descriptions, there are stacks of points to BP being RJ.
These are just a few examples; I am not making a Megatheory.
Script:
1. His first line is "Red John enters here."
2. In season 2, there is symmetry between Patrick scaring him, and his retaliation as Rj scares Patrick in the finale.
Dramatic Irony:
3. Season 6: "I've been at the Redjohn crime scenes since he began."
Val Ziskin (photographer), working with BP, later says "I've always wanted to work with one of the famous serial killers."
4, He calls Patrick, "amigo" in season 2 meeting, after killing Jared Renfrew in Mexico.
